Two con men, Mr. Stitch and Mr. Sew, wreak havoc at Wits End Palace when they present the Emperor with an exquisitely tailored suit of clothes, visible only to the worthy, but invisible to anyone “not fit for one’s post, or who is hopelessly dimwitted.”

The dangers of vanity and self-doubt are hilariously addressed through the foibles of a host of delightful characters and songs, as Emperor Maximilian The Most dons his most expensive and least visible outfit. It looks like it’s up to lowly Chester The Jester to imbue his Highness with some common sense.

Performed by a company of adults for family and young audiences, this version reminds us to be wary of slick talkers and trust our own eyes.

Production is self-contained (requires venue lights)
